Terms of Use
Last updated May 25, 2026
Important: PharmacyAI is an informational and organizational tool, not a medical device, and not a substitute for professional medical advice. In an emergency, call your local emergency number immediately. Do not use the app or website to make medical decisions without consulting a licensed healthcare professional.
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the PharmacyAI iOS application ("App"), the website at pharmacyai-app.com ("Website"), and the Web Pro subscription service (together, the "Service"). By creating an account, installing the App, subscribing, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
1. Who we are
The Service is provided by PharmacyAI ("we", "us", or "our"), an independent product developed and operated from Norway. Contact: support@pharmacyai-app.com. The operator's legal identity is available on request for any legitimate legal or regulatory purpose.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service (or older if your country sets a higher age of digital consent — for example, 16 in many EU/EEA countries). If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you must use the Service with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian. The Caregiver Profiles feature is intended to let an adult manage medication information for family members, including their own children, on the adult's own device.
3. Your account and electronic communications
By creating an account or starting a subscription, you consent to receive electronic communications from us — including subscription receipts, billing notices, security alerts, password resets, and other transactional or service-related messages — by email, push notification, or in-app message, in lieu of paper. You can adjust marketing preferences at any time; transactional communications are required for service operation. Most features work without an account. Some features (Web Pro, cloud-synced caregiver profiles, support) require Sign in with Apple or an email-verified Web Pro account. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for activity that occurs under your account. Notify us immediately at support@pharmacyai-app.com if you suspect unauthorized access.
4. Subscriptions and billing
4.1 iOS subscriptions (App Store)
iOS Premium and Caregiver Family subscriptions are sold and billed by Apple through your App Store account. Prices are shown in your local currency inside the App. Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the renewal date. You can manage and cancel your subscription at any time in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions. Refunds are handled by Apple under Apple's standard policies; we cannot issue refunds for App Store purchases.
4.2 Web Pro (Stripe via RevenueCat)
Web Pro is sold through a hosted checkout powered by RevenueCat with Stripe as the payment processor. Pricing is displayed in clear amounts on the Pricing page and at checkout. Web Pro subscriptions auto-renew monthly or annually depending on the plan you select. You can cancel at any time from the link in your receipt email or by emailing support — cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period and you retain access until then.
4.3 Refunds and consumer rights (EU/EEA/UK)
If you are a consumer based in the EU, EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, you have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal from a digital service contract under Directive 2011/83/EU (and the equivalent Norwegian Angrerettloven). By proceeding with checkout and using Web Pro features (such as making an interaction check or AI query), you expressly request that we begin performance immediately and acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once the service has been fully performed, as permitted by Article 16(m) of the Directive. If you did not see this acknowledgement at checkout and wish to invoke your withdrawal right, email support@pharmacyai-app.com before using any paid feature. Even outside the withdrawal period, we may grant pro-rated refunds at our discretion for documented technical failures of the Service — write to support.
4.4 Free tier and limits
The free tier provides limited daily quotas (currently 3 interaction checks and 3 AI assistant queries per day). Quotas may change with reasonable notice. Premium and Web Pro remove these quotas.
4.5 Price changes
We may change subscription prices. For active subscribers, price changes apply to the next renewal period after notice. You can avoid the new price by cancelling before the next renewal.
5. Medical disclaimer (please read)
PharmacyAI provides educational and organizational information about medications. It is not a medical device, a clinical decision support system, a pharmacist, a doctor, or a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
- Always consult a licensed healthcare professional — your pharmacist, prescriber, or physician — before starting, stopping, or changing any medication or supplement.
- Do not use the Service in an emergency. If you or someone else is experiencing a medical emergency, call your local emergency number (113 in Norway, 112 in the EU, 911 in the US, 999 in the UK) immediately.
- Stop using the App and seek immediate medical attention if you experience symptoms that may indicate a serious adverse drug reaction, including but not limited to: difficulty breathing, swelling of the face or throat, severe rash, chest pain, fainting, severe abdominal pain, sudden confusion, uncontrolled bleeding, or any symptom you suspect may be life-threatening.
- Drug interaction data, dosing information, and educational summaries are compiled from reputable references but may contain errors, may be out of date, or may not apply to your specific situation, allergies, comorbidities, or other medications.
- The reminder system is a convenience aid, not a substitute for your own medication management. Missed or delayed notifications can occur for many reasons (device offline, notifications disabled, OS errors). Do not rely on it as your sole reminder system for critical medications.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we accept no responsibility for any medical outcome resulting from reliance on the Service.
6. AI features disclaimer
The AI Assistant and the AI-powered drug interaction checker generate responses using a third-party large language model (currently OpenAI's gpt-4o-mini). AI output:
- Is provided "as-is" for general educational purposes only;
- May contain factual errors, omissions, or fabrications ("hallucinations"), especially for rare drugs, brand-name variants in non-English markets, and recently approved medications;
- Should not be used as the sole basis for any medical, financial, legal, insurance, or safety decision;
- Does not constitute the practice of medicine, pharmacy, or any regulated profession.
Always verify AI output with your healthcare provider or an authoritative source (such as the official prescribing information or a national drug regulator) before acting on it.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or to violate the rights of others;
- Submit content that is illegal, harmful, defamatory, harassing, or that infringes intellectual-property or privacy rights;
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract the source code of the Service except as permitted by mandatory law;
- Scrape, crawl, mass-download, or use automated means to query our APIs in excess of our published or implicit rate limits;
- Probe, attack, or attempt to compromise the security of the Service;
- Use the Service to develop a competing product or to train machine-learning models on our content without our express written permission;
- Resell, sublicense, or otherwise commercially redistribute the Service or its output without authorization.
8. Intellectual property
The Service — including the App, the Website, the underlying code, the brand "PharmacyAI", the visual design, copy, drug guides, illustrations, and all other materials — is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual-property laws.
We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the Service in accordance with these Terms and (for the App) Apple's standard End User Licence Agreement.
AI-generated output produced for you through your queries is not subject to a copyright claim by us; you are free to use it for your personal informational purposes, subject to the AI Features Disclaimer above.
9. Your content and feedback
Medication data, profile names, notes, photos, and similar content that you create in the App belong to you. We do not claim ownership of this content. If you choose to submit ideas, feature requests, bug reports, or other feedback to us, you grant us a perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide licence to use that feedback to improve the Service, with no obligation to compensate you.
10. Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party platforms including Apple (App Store, Sign in with Apple, StoreKit, iCloud, Apple Push Notifications), OpenAI, RevenueCat, Stripe, Vercel, Upstash, Firebase, and FormSubmit. Your use of those services is also governed by their terms and policies. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of third parties.
11. Warranty disclaimer
The Service is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE". To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties — express, implied, statutory, or otherwise — including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement, uninterrupted availability, and absence of errors or harmful components.
We do not warrant that any drug information, AI output, interaction analysis, or reminder will be accurate, complete, current, suitable for your situation, or delivered without delay. If you are a consumer with mandatory statutory warranties under Norwegian or EU consumer law, those rights apply to you regardless of this disclaimer.
12. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- We will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages — including loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or substitute services — arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Service.
- We will not be liable for any personal injury, illness, hospitalization, death, or other medical outcome that results from your reliance on the Service. You acknowledge the Service is not a medical device.
- Our aggregate liability for any claim arising out of or related to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the total amount you paid us for the Service in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) one hundred euros (€100).
Consumer protection notice: If you are a consumer in Norway, the EU, the EEA, the UK, or another jurisdiction whose law grants you non-waivable rights, the limitations above apply only to the extent permitted by that law. Liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other matter that cannot be limited by law is not excluded.
13. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, loss, liability, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of (a) your breach of these Terms, (b) your misuse of the Service, or (c) your violation of any law or third-party right. This clause does not apply to claims that cannot be waived under applicable consumer law.
14. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time by uninstalling the App and (for Web Pro) cancelling your subscription. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms, if continued provision is no longer commercially viable, or if required by law. We will give reasonable notice where practical, except in cases of serious breach or security risk. Sections 5 (Medical disclaimer), 6 (AI), 8 (IP), 11 (Warranty), 12 (Liability), 13 (Indemnification), 15 (Governing law), 16 (Disputes), and 17 (Apple App Store terms) survive termination.
15. Governing law
These Terms and any non-contractual obligation arising out of them are governed by the laws of Norway, excluding its conflict-of-law rules. This choice of law does not deprive consumers of the protection of mandatory provisions of the law of the country in which they have their habitual residence (Rome I Regulation, Art. 6).
16. Disputes
We hope to resolve any concern informally. Please email support@pharmacyai-app.com with the subject "Dispute" and a description of the issue. We will respond within 30 days.
If we cannot reach an informal resolution:
- Consumers in Norway: may bring a complaint to the Norwegian Consumer Authority (Forbrukertilsynet), the Consumer Council (Forbrukerrådet), or commence proceedings before Oslo District Court (Oslo tingrett).
- Consumers in the EU/EEA: may use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr, or bring proceedings in the courts of their country of residence.
- All other users: any dispute that cannot be resolved informally shall be brought exclusively before the courts of Oslo, Norway.
Nothing in this section affects mandatory consumer rights.
17. Apple App Store terms (iOS)
The following provisions apply to your use of the App on iOS devices distributed via Apple's App Store, and are required by Apple's End User Licence Agreement template:
- These Terms are between you and us only, not with Apple. We — not Apple — are solely responsible for the App and its content.
- Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support for the App.
- In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, which will refund the purchase price (if any). To the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the App.
- We — not Apple — are responsible for addressing any claims relating to the App, including product-liability claims, claims that the App fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement, and claims arising under consumer-protection or similar legislation.
- We — not Apple — are responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of any third-party intellectual-property claim relating to the App.
- You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a US Government embargo or designated as a "terrorist-supporting" country, and are not on any US Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and have the right to enforce them against you.
18. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes in the Service or the law. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, where required, notify you in the App or by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you must stop using the Service.
19. Miscellaneous
- Entire agreement: these Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and us regarding the Service.
- Severability: if any provision is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force.
- No waiver: our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of that provision.
- Assignment: you may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without our written consent; we may assign these Terms to a successor in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
- Language: the English version of these Terms is the binding version.
